About Verbund für Bildung und Kultur / VBK

The Network for Education and Culture (Verbund für Bildung und Kultur / VBK) is a collaboration of 10 libraries specializing in pedagogy, teacher and adult education. The network includes the libraries of the University Colleges of Teacher Education Vienna, Vorarlberg, Tyrol, Styria, Salzburg, Upper Austria, Carinthia and Lower Austria, as well as the Education Directorate of Lower Austria and the Federal Institute for Adult Education (bifeb). The networks’ search portal provides access to the (electronic) holdings of the libraries. The institutions share a joint library system, the search interface and license agreements, all managed and mediated by the Network Head Office in Vienna, a department of the Austrian Library Network and Service Ltd. (Die Österreichische Bibliothekenverbund und Service GmbH (obvsg)).
